Halloween comes to work

So just a little background first:  I work at the local college in the Food Services office.  Now some days are just ok but others are just right down fun.

Two of our kitchen people really got into the Halloween spirit.  Let me introduce you to our two new "lunch ladies"

Annette and Jeanette:

So those who know me well, knows that I am not a big fan of Halloween so this was the best I could do at dressing up - here I am with one of our cashier's, LeeAnn - she was a lady bug - and a cute one at that.

The Contraption

That's the only name we can think to name it.  Apparently my grandfather made this when my dad and his siblings were younger.  It ended up in my dad's front yard a year ago.  It may not be the prettiest thing but the kids sure have enjoyed it.

Our friends no I mean family, The Hess' were here earlier this month and when they come around it is always a lot of fun.  It didn't take the kids long to figure out how to work it.  However, it does help when someone (Kirk) is willing to push you on it.

Oh, and did I mention that you have to stop quite often to fix it????

Eatin'..Shoppin'...and Shootin'

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  We were able to get together with my family at my sister's house. Unfortunately I forgot my camera.

Jake wanted to go do a little Black Friday shopping so out we headed.  Fortunately for us, living in the country doesn't give us a lot of places to choose from.  It was quick and painless.

Saturday we went and did a little skeet shooting with some neighbors.  We went through lots of clay pigeons and ammunition.  Lots of fun was had and lots of laughs were shared.

Setting up more targets - after we ran out of clay pigeons.  The kids went and found the pieces and strategically placed them in the sage brush

It was a fun afternoon - it helped that the weather was beautiful.

Sierra's "little" date

We have these friends who have 3 boys ages 17, 15, and 9.  They are just like brothers to my kids and they consider my kids their brother and sisters.  A couple weeks ago while the kids were at mutual, the youngest happened to be at the church for something else with his mom.  He was pretty upset when she said he had to leave and felt really bad that he couldn't stay.  Sierra told him that she would go get him sometime and they would do something fun - just the two of them.

Well, that time finally happened.  She went and got him after his soccer practice and took him to
Wal-mart for a little shopping.  She gave him $5 to spend on anything he wanted.  He picked out a big bouncy ball, two cars and some silly string (for decorating his oldest brother's room) with his money.  They also bought two cartons of ice cream and came back to our house to do some ice cream sculpting.  I'm not sure what the ice cream was suppose to be but they had lots of fun.

Oh what a cute date !!
