Winter has arrived

Old Man Winter made his appearance yesterday here in the country:

Lots of open fields here.  I love this look of wide open spaces without any kinds of tracks.

 

Couldn't resist this one.  This cat was perched down on a rock drinking from the ditch.

 

 

 The trees are heavy with the snowfall.

 

 

There is something about this old barn that catches my attention everytime.

 

Love the look, not too fond of the icy roads though.

Tis the wrestling season

Yes, it is that time of year.  No I'm not talking about Christmas (we all know that it has arrived).  I'm talking wrestling.  This year Jake decided to try his hand at that sport.  So this is how he will spend three nights a week practicing, one night a week at duels and Saturdays at tournaments.  Last Saturday we spent the day in Delta.  He had five rounds and only won one of those.  But that's okay because he is getting lots of practicing in.  This week we are off to Nephi and Salina.

All together again

Last Friday, my niece Candace was married.  Having a wedding in December is always uncertain because of the weather.  However, Mother Nature was certainly looking down on her because the weather was perfect.  No clouds, no snow and lots of sunshine.  It turned out to be a wedding set for a Queen and she definitely looked like one.  Here she is coming out of the temple as Mrs. Christopher Caldwell.  Welcome to the family Chris.

 

 

It also was a day that all my brothers, sisters and I were together.  That doesn't happen very often.  My younger brother lives in Arizona so we don't get to see him as often as we would like.  Since I have moved back he is the only one who lives out of state. But he was able to make it up for the wedding.  It's always nice to get together as a family.  Just wished it would happen more often.

Seeing the Windmills

When we want to hit the mall we must go into the city about an hour away.  It can get tedious if it's done too often.  However, it's always nice to see the windmills, because that means we are almost there.  There is just something about coming around that last turn in the road at the mouth of the canyon and seeing them turning. 

I don't think I will ever get tired of seeing them.  There is something exciting about it.

Christmas at Temple Square

On Saturday while we were in Salt Lake we decided that it would be fun to go to Temple Square and see the lights.  It's been 6 years since we were there so it was definitely time to do it again.

Anyone who has been to Temple Square, especially at Christmas time, knows exactly what I am talking about.  Since neither my husband nor I are fans of traffic, we decided that the best way to go was on the TRAX.  So we head off for an evening of adventure.  We were just missing Sierra, I wished she hadn't of had to work.  Maybe another time.

Have to buy tickets, don't want the transit police on our bad side.
