Summer Flowers

Here are a couple pictures of the flowers that I have actually gotten to grow this summer in containers that I planted back in May.
It's the first time since we moved from Salt Lake (8 years ago) that I have gotten flowers to grow. When we lived in Las Vegas it was just too hot to grow much of anything. So as you can see I'm really enjoying this.

Tim McGraw

On Thursday night Sierra got to go to the Tim McGraw concert in Albuquerque. She went with one of her Young Women leaders, Jamie Drake. She was so excited to go and had a great time. Even though they sat on the grass at the back of the concert venue, she was able to see Tim "upclose" on the BIG screen.

Here is Sierra and Jamie with the stage in the background- doesn't Jamie look like the best YW leader ever? That's because she is.

And here is the "upclose" picture of Tim:

Sorry you missed it Lindsey...

Goin' 4-wheelin'

Today was such a nice day that we decided to get out the four-wheelers for a while. The kids have ridden so much in the back that they have actually made a track back there.

Here are Jake and Alexis enjoying the track:

And here is how Alexis finished off the day:

Yes, you're seeing it right - she flipped over on her side. She didn't quite make the turn. I think she was going too fast and went right over the edge into the arroyo (ditch) - She's OK -
but she said "she was for sure done" - she did spend a little bit of time picking all the stickers out of her arm from the sagebrush that she landed in.

50's dance

Last month the activity day girls in our ward made poodle skirts at one of their activity nights - with lots of help from a couple moms- Last night they got to show off those skirts at their Daddy Daughter party - A 50's sock hop. Here is a picture of Alexis and Carl - don't worry Carl never smiles for pictures but I think he had a good time. I volunteered to be the "official" photographer. It was so much fun. Can't wait to see what the leader comes up with next year.

Keepin it Real - Part 1

My cousin Pam tagged me to take 10 pictures of things around my house. However, the rule was that I couldn't cleanup or pickup before taking the pictures so what you see is what you get.

1- Fridge - Obviously it needs to be cleaned out. Garbage day is Friday that might be a good day to do it.

2- Closet - I chose my craft closet, maybe if I look at it long enough the craft will get themselves done.

3- Kitchen Sink - Lucky for us someone filled the dishwasher.

4- Toilet - Need I say more.

5- Favorite shoes - Since it's summer these things get worn probably 5 out of 7 days. I love them.

Keepin' it real - Part 2

Here's the rest of the list...

6- Favorite Room - My kitchen because I love the size of it. I always wanted a large kitchen with lots of counter space and I finally got it.

7- What the kids are doing now - What else, but playing video games

8- Laundry - Well, I was caught on laundry day - usually not as many hampers sitting around.

9- Self Portrait - Obviously my arms aren't long enough therefore the closeup.

10- Dream Vacation - I was able to go last summer on what would probably be the closest ever - HAWAII - I had a blast.

Pathetic Little Garden

Well, here is a picture of our pathetic little garden. There are actually two of these boxes. We have tomatoes, 1 cabbage plant and soon a couple cucumber plants. The dirt here is actually just sand so we had to build boxes and fill with top soil in order to have a decent garden. We tried to grow the tomato plants from seed but once they got about 8 inches tall the dog decided to eat them. So, off to the store we went to buy some plants. Jake is doing this as part of his Cub Scout requirements. We will keep you posted on the progress.
